Battle of The Balms:
Farmacy, Sunday Riley, + Boscia
This is a big week for me because this weekend is
my BACHELORETTE party…
Yup. I know.
I’m so excited so naturally, I started overpacking days ago.
Anyways, leading up to this week I have been super on top of taking care of my skin. Between all the body lotions, cleansing balms, toners, moisturizers, etc trust me when I say I over prepared and, that over-prepping was a good thing because I discovered that I own another cleansing balm…
I know this may not seem like a huge deal but let me tell you finding new products, that I forgot I purchased, is like finding gold and is super exciting. So, after discovering [and testing] the new balm I decided it was time for another beauty battle.
Before you go,
comment below and tell me if you have ever tried
any of these balms or if you have any recommendations.
Also, tell me your favorite bachelorette party story!
Battle of The Balms:
What is a cleansing balm?
Cleansing balms are rich cleansers that usually double in removing makeup and impurities while still cleansing and balancing the skin. Cleansing balms typically help your skin feel hydrated, smooth, and fresh.
1. Farmacy Green Clean Makeup Meltaway Cleansing Balm with GreenEnvy @ $22.00-$34.00 [depending on the size you purchase]
If you are an avid FCN reader, then you probably already saw me rave about this balm. Although my feelings for this balm haven’t changed, I was interested to see how it stacked up against two other leading cleansing balms.
This balm not only destroys makeup and impurities, it leaves my face feeling so incredibly fresh. As you can tell from the pictures, this product has been well loved. You can use this balm on its own to simply cleanse your face but I personally love it for removing my makeup. If you want to see it in action, check it out here.
This balm is a bit different than the other two on this list. It had a grainy feel on the skin but the texture is similar to the others. Personally, this balm doesn’t do it for me and it’s the most expensive out of the three. This balm does clean the skin, however, it leaves my skin feeling a bit greasy which I don’t personally love after cleaning my face. The balm did hydrate my skin but again I didn’t like the finish it left behind. If you wanted to try this balm, I would recommend getting a sample from Sephora first to make sure you like it and that it works for your skin.
3. Boscia Charcoal Makeup Melter Cleansing Balm @ $32.00
I got this little powerhouse in a Sephora Favorites box a while back and it was my go-to before I received the Farmacy cleansing balm. Although I still use and love this balm, nothing makes my skin feel as fresh as the Farmacy balm. If you are a fan of Boscia products, this balm is worth a try. It has the same consistency and texture as Farmacy’s but just leaves my skin a bit more hydrated than I prefer. I like to take this balm with me when traveling because it is the perfect size and you only need a small amount.
Well, each of these balms are so unique and different. All three have the same intention but the formulas and ingredients are all so differen. As you all have probably figured out, my number one will always be Farmacy’s cleansing balm. It just leaves my skin feeling so refreshed and clean plus it smells like Key Lime Freakin’ Pie. If I had to put these in order from best to least favorite, I would say Farmacy, Boscia, then Sunday Riley. Sunday Riley’s balm isn’t bad, it just doesn’t feel nearly as phenomenal as the other two do on my skin.
