Is it just me or did summer just fly by? Like, I feel as if we just skipped July and August and now it’s hello September and pumpkins.
I’m not mad but I need to know how this happens every year. Am I right?
Whatever, I’m getting cheese fries 🍟
Also, I know you guys are probably like ‘wait, how are these your September favorites. We’re literally five days in…’
– and yes, that is correct –
The answer is simple, I’ve been slacking since August and it’s no excuse but just know these favorites are long overdue. So, today I am sharing my
August September favorites because I love them, I think you will too and September just drop kicked us in the face.
So, here we are.

Disclaimer: Some of the products mentioned below I received complimentary at industry events or in PR.
I was not asked to write a post. As always, all of my opinions are my own, honest opinions.
Fresh Finds: September Beauty 2019
PUR Festival Palette: This 12 piece pressed pigment palette has such fun shades that range from metallics to beautiful matte shades. They also have two pressed glitter shadows which are stunning. I love this palette for classic matte looks or for wild colorful looks. I love that you have the option to do either or. The shadows are highly pigmented, easy to work with, and buildable. They claim the shadows are infused with skin-loving ingredients and they are cruelty free so that is another plus.
Also, the smell reminds me of the Tarte palettes [since it smells like chocolate or cocoa] which I don’t mind at all but if you are someone who is sensitive to scent just a heads up. Occasionally it is on sale at Kohls for $30 but the normal price is about $36.
Derma E Hydrating Mist: Disclaimer: I don’t like the spritzer applicator on this since it does a little bit of a end-of-the-bottle-mac-fix-plus-camel-spit however, I do really love the actual formula. It definitely isn’t a ‘mist’ but it is definitely instantly refreshing/cooling. I loved using this spray all summer for a quick boost. I love that is has hyaluronic acid, coconut water and rose water [three of my faves]. The purpose of the spray is to set makeup in place or to cool and moisturize skin. I personally didn’t use this as a setting spray because the spritzer was too wild but I did like to use this in the morning or mid-day with no makeup on as a quick refresher.
Also, for those who are eco-friendly or ingredient enthusiasts, it is 100% vegan, soy-free, and cruelty-free.
J Cat Holographic 3D Eye Topper: If you love the Stila shimmer shadows or any of the new jelly eye shadows that recently came out then you will LOVE this product. Aside from the fact it is only $6.99 (Stila is $20), it packs so much pigment and it is super easy to work with. I’m a big fan of the liquid eye shadows that have been popping up. They are not only easy to work with but they are long-wearing and stay in place. This particular product was not only what I consider ‘affordable’ but also the shade was so pretty on the eye lid. I picked up the color ‘Viridian’ which is a colorful dual chrome liquid eye topper with a blue-purple shift. I am happy to say I will probably grab a few other shades like ‘wink wink’, ‘azul lemonade’, and ‘unicorn hype’. Note: you can find these at Ulta!
TheBalm Schwing Liquid Eyeliner: TheBalm is just one of those brands I feel gets overlooked often and I’m not sure why. Maybe not overlooked but I feel they should get more hype because their products are always on point and great quality. I just don’t know why you don’t hear about them often?
Anyways, I received this liner a while back and honestly forgot I had it until I started reorganizing my makeup collection. I’m so glad I found it again because the formula is 💣bomb, it doesn’t budge, and the applicator is easy to use and allows for a perfect wing creation. It’s also very matte [which I love] and pigmented.
Maybelline City Mini Palette: I first fell in love with these palettes when MakeupShayla collabed with Maybelline. These mini palettes are easily my favorite drugstore shadow formula and I prefer them over some of my high-end palettes. They blend with ease, are so pigmented, they are drugstore pricing, and have the perfect combo of shades. Recently I grabbed the mini palette in ‘Cocoa City’ and have not stopped using it for my every day soft, casual glam looks. It is so pretty and a great palette for beginners or pros. The shadows don’t have a scent which I’m cool with.
Drunk Elephant D-Bronzi : When I got this product in PR I honestly wasn’t sure what to think. The D-Bronzi sunshine drops are essentially a bronzer that you can add to any serum, moisturizer, oil, or sunscreen to enhance your natural glow and give you a bronze look without all the hard, damaging side effects. I have been living for these drops. During the day, since I work from home, I often don’t wear much makeup besides moisturizers, spf, mascara, and a brow. I love that these drops can be added to a moisturizer and I instantly feel like I just took a nice stroll in the sun.
CoverFX Perfector Face Palette in medium-deep: OMG obsessed does not begin to cover it! I got this product in one of my BoxyCharm boxes and I haven’t put it down since. I love this brand because they always have great, quality products and I’ve never been disappointed with any of their products I’ve tried.
This palette is great for summer but in the winter the shades are going to be a bit too dark for me. The only downside is I wish they had a palette with shades in between this one and their lighter palette [which is pretty light]. Either way, I love the finishing powder, blush, and highlighters. The finishing powder does have a little bit of shine to it so it gives a nice soft bronzy glow. The blush is pigmented so a very little goes a LONG way [trust me]. The highlighters are super soft and glowy. Overall this palette is just very pretty and I get a lot of compliments when I use it.
