How To Support Your Favorite Bloggers

Fit Chick's - How To Support Your Favorite Bloggers [when you're not a blogger]!
This post may contain affiliate links. Purchasing through them help support this website.

Hey Friend!

Welcome back.
Today we are talking about how you can support your favorite bloggers or vloggers [even if you aren’t a blogger].

A lot of times people have no idea how or what can actually help their blogging friends and that is okay. We don’t blame you. More often than not, people don’t realize how far a little bit of love goes or how an extra share can open up their friend’s blog to a new brand, reader or a whole new audience.

Before we dive in, I need to express that bloggers do what they do because they love it. It is personal, it is hard work but they are usually on some form of a journey or just looking to connect and help you. There are literally hundreds of blogs and each of them has a different niche to try and help you solve your current dilemma. They range from cooking websites to fashion and style to self-care to DIY and more. They do what they do to help make your life easier.

With that being said, let’s get into it!

PS – Don’t forget to enter our awesome giveaway at the end of this post!

 1. Share, Share and Share some more: Sharing blog posts, pinning Pinterest pins, tweeting about giveaways, every little bit helps. After all, how many blogger and business lives have changed after things go ‘viral’. It all starts with a share, a tweet, a pin. Sharing content that your favorite bloggers have worked hard to create increases the chance of them getting noticed by brands, new readers, and your friends. It makes our day when we connect with someone new and sharing our content is a simple way for us to find new friends. Also, sharing our posts helps drive traffic to our website which will increase page views and may make or break a chance for a new brand to work with us.

2. Comments are life: Engagement is HUGE! We love it. We thrive off it and it is more than half of the reason we do what we do. This goes hand and hand with connecting with bloggers. We appreciate the love and by you engaging we know we are either on the right track or need to switch gears. Also, when you engage it increases the chance that others will engage. We love your feedback so by hearing from you we can learn what you want and need. If you have a question don’t be afraid to ask. Also, social media works off of algorithms [which they are constantly changing] but they work off algorithms and more engagement means a better chance of our work being seen. It gets really lonely when we don’t hear from you and nothing makes me – personally – happier than when I see that you liked something enough to engage with me or share it.

3. Follow Them: Following us is an easy way to increase followers yes but more importantly, it makes it easier for you to see our work! There are a lot of secret followers or ghost followers who like to view your work but are afraid to follow [for some reason] and I’m here to tell you not to be afraid. We LOVE seeing new followers because it makes us feel like our work is important and that we are helping others. Nowadays there are so many apps to track stats and followers that we can often tell if you are viewing our work without actually following us so save yourself a step and feel free to follow us. Also, back to engagement quickly, if you see an account with a ton of followers and very little to no engagement on their posts from their followers, they more than likely aren’t connecting with their readers or they very well could have bought followers aka fake profiles. So having followers who actually want to follow you is huge and as much as we love seeing our number of followers rise it isn’t as important to us as having true followers who love to talk to us and see our work.

4. Connect with them: Whether you just want to let them know you love their blog or you want to network, it doesn’t hurt. More often than not, bloggers and vloggers get a ton of love on their posts but they want to hear more from their loyal readers and followers on a more personal level too. If they know more about what you want and what you like it helps them create better content and more of what you want to see. I cannot tell you how much getting a personal email from a reader means to me. It could be as simple as ‘Just saying Hi – love your blog‘ and seriously it makes my entire day, week, and month that much better and more satisfying. Do they have an upcoming event? Showing up and supporting them is endless in the amount of joy they will feel. More than anything, it is a lot of fun to create your own content and run your own business but at the end of the day, we are doing this for you! We want to connect with YOU! So make sure to tell them  about you. We are here to help you and want to know more about you!

5. Subscribe: Do you actually like what your blogging friends are posting on the internet? Then subscribe! It doesn’t take long and you get all of their posts straight to your inbox so you don’t have to search for their page every day. 😉 jk – but it is easier and that way you don’t miss anything. It is hard work building an email list [I literally had to beg my mom to join my list in the beginning] but seriously it is hard work so we appreciate all of our subscribers. Also, a lot of bloggers give exclusives to their email list so you might be missing out on something great!

How do blogs make money?
Great question!
Most blogs make money through ads, sponsored posts, and affiliate links.

Ads are usually automatically created around your most recent purchases. A lot of websites use ‘cookies’ to track your activity so that is why when you go to a store’s site and you see an ad for something you recently purchased or clicked on it is because they tracked your information. If you click on an ad directly from your blogger’s site then your favorite blogger will generate a very small income. I personally use Google Ads so if you notice ads on my site, clicking on them helps my blog generate a very small income.

Sponsored posts are posts that bloggers get paid to write positive content about. If you caught our hair extension review you will see that is a sponsored post. I got paid to write that post – however – I did let my readers know about a recent situation that I turned down. Turning down a sponsored post is hard because you want to make money to keep your blog running but at the end of the day if I don’t like a product I am not going to promote it to my readers.

Affiliate links are links that many bloggers use to earn a small commission on purchases. You will see at the beginning of each post on my blog that I make the following statement: “This post may contain affiliate links. Purchasing through them help support this website.” It does not mean that every link or even any link is an affiliate link but I post that disclaimer with each post in case I decide to add an affiliate link to the post. Again, we appreciate anytime you click on a link because it helps support our blog.

Thank you for joining us!
We hope you loved this post and we look forward to connecting with you even more!
